Went there with my family and our oldest son loves old coins. The owner was amazing and took his time to explain the coins and the history behind them and why they are valuable! It was just the best experience and we can't wait to order coins and coin jewelry from him. What a hidden gem this store is. I recommend to anyone looking for fantastic jewelry, coins and more!!!! Can't wait to come back and stay in touch with Allesandro. We appreciate you.

This is an excellent store if you are looking to own a piece of history. The owner, Alessandro, is a very nice and friendly man. He explains the history of the coins he sells and has a passion for history. He sat down 1 on 1 with me and helped me decide on a piece of jewelry I liked and to pick the right chain. He takes his time and does not rush or pressure you to purchase something. He also explains how to clean and maintain the jewelry. Would highly recommend a visit to his store even if you do not buy anything.

Super helpful gentlemen, one of whom was Alexander Serra, an expert on old coins and antiquities, who went out of his way to share so much interesting and practical information about the beautiful coins and cameos in the store. Excellent and truly one of a kind experience in Rome!

I found Serra Roma while doing research online where to purchase authentic ancient Roman coins. I was so delighted to have the opportunity to visit Mr. Alessandro Serra’s delightful store! He has an amazing collection of high quality ancient Roman and Greek coins fashioned into various jewelries (pendants, necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc) and he won’t rush you when you are looking around at all his wonderful treasures. I went in specifically to look for coins with the Goddess Roma or God Apollo and he promptly showed me his collection. All the while I’m looking at the pieces, he told me about the history of the coins, how old they were, who minted them, what characters were minted in the front/back of the coin. His English was fantastic (he studied college in the US during his youth). Each pieces will come with a little card giving you additional details of the coin. I ended up purchasing a Caius Vibius Pansa Denarius pendant (50 BC) with the most gorgeous profile of Apollo in the front and Minerva in the back set in Sterling Silver. His shop can help you get a Global Blue form which will give you back ~15% in tax rebate at the airport. If you download Global Blue on your phone ahead of time, you’ll see your form auto uploaded into the system immediately! I feel safe when buying ancient coins from Alessandro because of how much he knows his coins and their history. There are so many counterfeits out there, I didn’t want to risk buying a fake coin for a few euros less. Plus it is so meaningful being able to support a family owned business from an owner who is so passionate about Roman history and their coins. His store is close to the Spanish Steps in one of the smaller streets (Via Margutta) aside from the main Via del Babuino shopping street. Use google map and you’ll find his store easily. His pieces are definitely one of the most unique souvenirs you can get in Rome. How often can you truly take a piece of Ancient Rome back home with you? 🤩

My highest appreciation for this store and its owner. I was there yesterday in search for an authentic roman souvenir. I was greeted by Mr. Serra (and his two lovely Papillons :)) and asked what I was searching for. Because there is a great amount of juwelry I couldn't decide immediatly. Eventually I decided on getting a pendant. I was informed greatly about the history of every coin I wanted to know more about. Mr. Serra was very patient in giving me history lessons, you can tell that he knows what he's talking about. I was in the store around an hour, talking and learning about the history and now bringing home a truly unique coin pendant :) Thank you Mr. Serra!

I traveled to Rome with my boyfriend and we were interested in seeing the coins at Serra Roma. When we went to the shop it was closed, but there was a note on the door that said to call if you needed anything. Well, we called and Alessandro met us at the shop within 15 minutes and gladly shared his beautiful coins with us. He expertly provided fascinating information about every coin we examined. He clearly has a passion for them. We each selected a coin that resonated with us personally and had Alessandro make them into bracelets. He shipped them promptly and they arrived in the US within a week. The packaging was beautiful and the package included certificates of authenticity as well as information about each piece. If I could award 100 stars I would. The entire experience and the gorgeous jewelry will be lifelong reminders of a very special trip!!

had a lovely experience here during my recent visit to rome! i found this store online when looking for unique silver jewelry in the area, and i decided that a roman coin pendant would be perfect! the shop owner and his assistant were very helpful and friendly; they let me try on different chains with the pendant to see what i liked, double-checked that the coin was secure before i left, and the shop owner came down to the store to educate us about the pendant i chose. i would highly recommend this store for unique roman jewelry, and i’m looking forward to wearing this necklace as a staple in my wardrobe!

What an amazing shopping experience! The owner is so knowledgeable about coins and spent lots of time teaching me interesting details to help me choose. And a hard choice it was. There were trays and trays of coin medallions to look through. I had looked at several other shops for many days but it wasn't until coming here that I found exactly what I wanted. Then then I was educated about how to go through customs for tax refund process.

I had a lovely experience at Serra Roma. The owner and his assistant were very helpful. They showed me many ancient coin rings and pendants. The owner knows the history of every coin and takes the time to explain the front and back of each piece. These were the most authentic ancient coins that I found. I love the ring that I selected. It is a lovely jewelry store near the Spanish steps!

If your looking for an authentic, memorable, long lasting souvenir to commemorate your Rome trip what is better than a coin that has been around since BC made into a wearable peice of jewelry. Everyone talks about Italian gold but a roman coin is so much more unique! Alessandro the owner will help you find the perfect coin. He is passionate about the history of the roman coins and will guide you in selecting a coin with history and symbolism that is meaningful to you. I'm so happy I found his store and absolutely love the coin I selected of the Roman goddess with Castor and pollux on the reverse. Each coin comes with authentication and information on the time period and subject. Such a unique piece of history I can wear to remember my trip! Bonus the store is located on a beautiful quite street off the main road.
